While studying at the University of Rhode Island, Tucker Beckett, left in picture, was one of several people who helped Nickantony Quach, right in picture, and Mark Canny write their 2017 book, Thumos: Adulthood, Love & Collaboration. Four years later, Tucker got married. The first dance during the reception on his wedding day was captured by this video, which was produced by Nick.
During the wedding, Nick met Lucia Longnecker, right in picture, the mother of a college friend of Tucker’s. At one point, Lucia asked, what is Thumoslang? For the first time, Nick did not dance around but gave the shortest possible answer. Thumoslang is the nomenclature for social life. Lucia got it as soon as Nick gave her the following explanation. To become an expert in any field, you must understand its nomenclature. To become a master of relationships, you must use the nomenclature for social life.
As a follow-up, Jairson and Nick produced the video, “Video Letter to Lucia”, which is Episode 1 in Season 3 of NDBaker93. In the video, Jairson explained how Thumoslang changed his world.
